That's my old LT5 in the GTR. Swapped the motor out with an LS2 so the new motor owner took a video and posted it up.

Cool to see it running again. With hindsight I probably wouldn't have done...

Idle Valve, Is this a common GM Piece?

Howdy,
Fitted a new idle valve recently as the last one was broken but not being sure of any part number I just pulled a standard European GM one.
Now I'm thinking it maybe incorrect so wondering...

Does anyone know where I can a set of throttle body gaskets?
Want to pull my throttle body apart as it seems to be sticking but don't want to do that before I have a kit.

1. Does it just plug in or does it require soldering?

Running well BUT....Idles at 2000rpm sometimes!

Not sure if anyone's encountered this before but my LT5 has started idling rather highly at odd times.

I start it cold, no worries idles a touch fast (naturally) then settles down to a steady...

Ah yes, didn't finishing typing and so should read Sutton Coldfield, which is about 120 miles away (that's British miles so heavy traffic all the way inbetween for the American's reading this)....

It's a G50/OO, 1st, 2nd and 3rd are lengthened 4th and 5th as standard, this was done before I brought the car though.

Not sure what the ratios are, have a sheet somewhere but suspect it's...

My engine is basically stock 'cept the headers and intake. I don't do drag racing but lots of trackdays instead. I'm not really keen to have the Top shift light on at max revs but 6500 sound...

The motor is stock but always looking for cheaper power, car weighs around 990kg wet.
Trans is a strengthened Porsche G50 5 speed, have to use this due to the transaxle requirement.

Sorry to be a pain but just to be sure,
step 1. unplug the brown plug and connect probe
step 2. then turn the engine over?
Presume it won't start as you say but will show a reading?

Right then, I have the manual and it says to check the ECU when running to see if a current is coming through (Brown plug, pin 3 from memory). Can I pull the whole 'Brown' plug when the engine is...

Hi,
Problem #1. I'm getting a code 31 on my LT5 which is the Cam Shaft sensor but it doesnt seem to be effecting the running of the motor at all.
I've not done the testing as to if it's an ECU...
