You can install the sender at the front of the passenger side fuel rail.
Remove the schrader valve core.
If I recall correctly the end of the fuel rail is a 4an male end.

That's normal. When you reconnect the battery, the headlight control module applies voltage to both headlight motors to close them. That is why you hear two clunking sounds.

Here's the schematic from a 90 Preliminary manual so the color code of the wires could be wrong.
The temp. sensor has a 3 wire connector.
It appears the sensor is two sensors in one package....

If you have the stock fuel injectors (Multec) they could be
causing your strange problems. If they are the original injectors, try ohming the coils out when hot and cold. Should be around 16 ohms.

As you can see on the schematic only 2 pins on the Valet/Power Key Switch are used.
When the switch is in Full Power Mode, the Dark Blue/White wire
