Today I went to my local Crovette Parts Dealer, and found another 970C, last three part number 155. It was blue. I think I may have a lead for the 90-95 black original in europe. I will let all know if I have any joy.

I also contacted the largest restoration battery company in the US. The owner stated, unless he could acquire the original tool stampings from GM the 75 series Freedom batteries cannot be reproduced. I am going to bring this up at the NCRS National Convention in August 06. I will advise that all 1984 to 1993 (2007 NCRS judging) batteries will not be able to show, for judging, as original. They will have to change the judging guide because the shelf life of a maintenance free battery is estimated at 6 years, this not even on a car. Less when subjected to frequent charge, discharges. I will let all know what the outcome may be.
