This past weekend, I went on a Corvette run with a bunch of C5/C6 people that had a 3-day trip planned in the mountains near where I live. Pete (PLRX on the 'other' forum) told me about it, so I figured it would be a great first run for my Z. Evan (my buddy with the red '92 ZR-1 that I posted about here, which is still in progress) also came along on Sunday with his red '85 GS80 Corvette (it doesn't have the original engine, but does have a built engine). I went with them for all three days.
Had a really awesome time, weather was perfect. My Z ran great the whole time, didn't have any issues.
I've re-posted here what I posted over at the other forum. I'll post more pics of my ZR-1 in the 'Members Rides' section.
Day 1, Oct. 8 - Tollhouse road to Shaver Lake
On the way to Shaver Lake, before the Tollhouse Grade.
Uh oh, trouble already! Vince (his car is the red C5 with the hood up that everyone is standing around) hit a bump or something and heard a 'clunk' and it appeared that his right front coil over shock was broken at the top. His car was still drivable though, so we continued on up to Shaver. Turned out later after further inspection that the shock wasn't actually broken, the top part had just come unscrewed somehow; so it was able to be put back together.
Me, Pete and Bill (his car is the black convertible C6) decided we wanted to go see the lake before joining the rest of the group for dinner at a place there in Shaver.
