I went down the same path and also decided to go the 4.00" stroke crank/402 CID route. Luckily I came across a never used before 4.00" Bryant billet crank and a later style 405 hp long block in perfect condition to start the project off with. All the parts are gathered up now; GVD ported heads, LA Sleeve 4.00" liners installed and plateau finish honed, JE 12:1 coated pistons, Crower Maxi-Lite steel billet rods, ATI balancer. Hopefully my work schedule will slack off a bit over the winter so I can get it assembled and running by BG time this spring.
