- do I leave the ZF6 speed in the car and disconnect the engine from it when I pull it out?
You will need to disconnect the ZF6 and at a minimum pull it back and out of the way......which means removing the drive shaft, etc....pull it
2. do I need to pull the radiator
No, but all of the accessory stuff needs to go, PS pump, coolant lines etc
3. I read about a guy who rebuilt his engine with it still in the car...He made it seem pretty easy,...IS this feasable?...All I want to do is replace the timing chains and time it??????
I think he just reringed the pistons and changed bearings, so no would not work well
- I cant seem to find timing chains!....where are they???
thanks!!!
go to my posts on LT5 assembly or some of the others......lots of pics, they are behind the engine cover or under cam cover....if you were talking about can find new..Jerrys, Phrogs, or White Racing have them for sale
Read up and then pull the motor, take your time..be careful!
