Whew... Well, that's comforting. But, I'm sweating the (near???) over-heating episode now...paranoid, I recon. Long as the gasket held (again), I guess I'm alright. $$$ is really tight right now, and I really hate to see what the compression test might show.
Then again, the courageous only die once, and a coward dies a thousand deaths. I guess I'll get it over with! It would be a "bit more" than a winter project to fix the short block…
