I thought there was good discussion in that thread, silly it got locked IMO, if there is one thing car guys will have varying opinions about, it is power numbers.
I remember the gross number being 425 gross hp from that thread as well. 425 gross hp is a number of which most a stock BBC couldnt attain
off the assembly line(except for the rare BBC examples, and then only with headers and tuning). The stock LT5 does so, with 30% let cubes, and gets superior fuel economy and has superior driveability.
In another thread Graham B posted a dyno graph of an LT5 both with its Port Throttles Opened and Closed. It illustrated to good effect why the Por Throttles were installed by GM in the 1st place.
370 sae net is a big number for 1990. My Uncles last year Testarossa (1991-1 of the 7177 made from 84-91) is 390hp, top speed 180mph, 0-60 5.2. Often compared to the ZR-1 although you could by over 3 ZR-1's for the cost of 1 Testarossa.
