Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply - it's very helpful to know that the hub is the same as on the L98 cars!
Sadly, the play in my wheel is close to the limit allowed by the UK 'MOT' - the annual vehicle safety check, so I'm going to have to sort it out before too long...
