Default Re: Why isn't the Registry open to all Z?

As mentioned in a similar discussion, pressing "Today's posts" on Corvetteforum doesn't do you much good if you're looking for LT5 or even C4 related posts. This forum currently sees 20-50 posts a day (Probably a poor estimate), but they are all relevant to car that is the common denominator of the members of the forum, thus leaving you with the possibility to look through all new posts.

Adding all other generations of ZR-1 would probably result in 10 - 100 times more traffic, reducing posts relevant to the current users from 100%, to 1-10%, which in turn will cause people to stop using functions like "Today's posts", and only browse certain parts, further reducing activity in the LT5 related threads.

This can of course be solved by completely separating the different generations. Multiple forums under one roof. Though I have not pondered too much of what could be gained of such a setup.

Note: This is only my personal opinion. As a new member it's also hard to understand the purpose of the Registry (If one removes the forum from the equation), but having read almost the whole Z-registry correspondence between 1995 and 2007 (still reading), I am very much aware of it's initial purpose.
