The answer is simple.
Fix what is wrong mechanically.
Then address cosmetic and odor issues.

Would you have scrapped a big block mid year coupe over such things?
Today, they haul them out of barns covered in manure, untouched in decades, and make a huge fuss over the restoration.

As described, this one is easy.
Stop dithering and start fixing would be my advice to her.

Feel free to have her ship it to my shop.
Sounds like a great winter fill in job.
