Yeah, I'm with those of us who love our C4 ZR-1. Performance for the price, historic speed records, ability to wrench on, low-aerodynamic-wide-rear-tire more subtle yet speed machine look.
However, I must say this. The C7 ZR1 is awakening a younger generation into the knowledge of and respect for the ZR1 Corvette. I've had more than a few conversations now at Cars & Coffee, and Car shows about it.
One 27ish young Camaro owner, after I looked at and complimented his beautifully detailed 2015, asked me what I drove there. So I took him over to my Z. Immediately, there was excitement when I said, a '94 ZR-1. "A ZR-1? I didn't know they built these in the 90s!" he exclaimed as he walked around it, looking at it like he'd just discovered the holy grail. lol. So, of course, I gave him a (brief) history lesson on it's design, engine by Lotus, 24-hour speed record, etc. He almost couldn't get over it, and took a bunch of photos of it which he quickly sent to another car guy friend.
I'm going to like this 2019 ZR-1, if not at least what it's doing to connect us crusty old guys (just talking about myself,
) to a younger car loving generation.
