I can speak to the last 15 years of it being garage kept 100% of the time here in Texas and never exposed to rain, ice, etc. I can't speak to the original owner's care in Colorado. I suppose some of that could be salt related. Nevertheless, as George suggests, refinishing may be in my future. I see Marc does a terrific looking job with that.
Yours looks great, George. I love the look of the LT-5 on the water manifold and throttle body.

You're right--Marc does a terrific job of refinishing engines, in almost any color or finish you want. If you have any reason to have your car at Marc's for some upgrades (and, really, who doesn't have a need for a little more Haibeck Horsepower?) you should have him refinish it. When I decided to do his 510 package I had him do my '95 engine in "Fine Silver", which is about as close as he can get to the original stock color. Also used the stock black bolts (some of which Marc replaced with ones in better condition than mine--he has lots of takeoff bolts.) Trying to keep it as close to stock look as possible, although I did have him add his lettering for a little advertising (letters are decals that can be removed). Always wowed the crowd at shows.
Also on the emblem question, my emblems were also looking a bit shabby from years in an oceanside location and the usual engine heat, so I got some reproductions through Lee (LGAFF). Don't know if he still has any or has a source for them. ---Bob
