Yup! Totally agree - like changing oil or brake pads, or alternators too, for that matter. Mine died at around the mid 40k miles. So, mebby it would be a good idea to change them out at about 40-50k miles as a matter of routine.
But, non-OEM parts are "...like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get!"
