While it's true that they have to run a production version of the race engine, I think they have some significant leeway in what's required. If I remember correctly, the head design has to be the same, but I don't think they are required to run the same displacement or crank design for production, and I'm not even sure if they have to run NA or if they could do forced induction on the production version of the engine.
I'm hoping they actually do an NA DOHC FPC with high rpm, but the C8 DCT is only rated to 7500rpm, so unless they already have a different transmission version ready, FPC may be a dream.
