I had a shop in Casselberry, Florida - Corvette Masters - cut a strip of sheet metal and weld it to the open side boxing it in to add strength. And I recall, front have tapped holes on the frame lining up with the X brace but the rear involved a plate with bolt fabricated and welded on to mount the X member. Stiffened the chassis substantially but reduced the clearance a bit.

yes i have seen them boxed for added strength. was it worth it? or do i sell it and go with the v2v?
