Here is what I installed as mentioned by Jeff. It was not bad (for the price....get what you pay for type), but did not fit and required a lot of trimming and adding to get the complete coverage. In addition, the material was a very cheap, thin foam with foil on one side and if I had to do it again or recommend it I would not. I wish I had my Z running long enough after the mod to give you a good assessment of the product, but it did help some on noise and seemed to with heat as well for the time I used it.
Have said that, with my motor and trans out now I have been wanting to do more under the body to cosmetically as well as address more sound deadening and heat if I can while I have full access. I might have made the mistake of trying to use some rubberized undercoating in the trans tunnel area and part of the firewall. My concern was keeping away from the heat of the headers and exhaust in those areas being worried about flammability of the product.
There are many products out there similar to this:

Many manufacturers and materials available to try to further insulate from the outside in the tunnel area and from the outside under the body. In a metal body I would hestitate, but wondering now about putting such a product being held up by their high temp spray adhesive in conjuction with some other type of fasteners or aluminum framing on the edges and center other areas for insurance. To me it seems our interior gets quite warm and I have enough sunshine creating heat from the weather alone so looking to block out as much of the heat generated by the engine and exhaust into the cabin as possible as to not work the A/C so hard too. Another reason why I have tolerated the delamination on my windshied and wanted to replace it with a standard C4 one, but needed all the help I could get here in Hawaii to keep cool....especially during the summer months.
Anyway enough of my

. I just wanted to share about my thoughts about trying to get some heat insulation and the product I used.
