Well the car did definitely feel stronger in 2nd gear, but I think the lack of traction in 1st is because they are brand new. I think they just need to have that top layer burned off before they get grippy.
My original air duct definitely sagged in the middle, and I imagine when it warmed up it got worse. So the new Samco probably is helping. And that splash shield, that thing practically covers up the ouside air holes completely. So that should help get outside air to the filter more. We'll have nice weather this weekend, I'll have to drive it around more to get a better feel for the tires grip. The car is a bit quieter/smoother when cruising, getting the fronts too should help even more.
