It is about time to get the Z going again. It needs the clutch hydralic system overhauled.
As a starting point I identified the two cylinders needed at NAPA Online. Will the below items work on my 94 Z? If not where do I go to get them? NAPA Clutch Slave Cylinder – Part No NNC360017 NAPA Clutch Master Cylinder – Part No NNC39763 ![]() ![]() Also, I looked thru the ZR1 parts manual I did not see any gaskets of any kind needed to do this other than some teflon tape for the pipe threads. Did I miss any gaskets, sealers or lock tight treatments that are recommended. I plan on using either Prestone DOT 4 sythetic or Motel 600 on the fill. Comments? Suggestions? Doug ZR1FUN PS: The NAPA Online price versus the local store price was about $25 cheaper each. |

I would pick Motul way before Prestone (at least my opinion). I use ATE type 200 in mine with no problems. |

Doug hope all is well and that Velma is doing good. I never heard back from you whether it was the slave or the master that was leaking.
No teflon tape is need, just undo and screw back in. I should be back up in the Seattle area the 16th or 23rd returning a yellow ZR-1. |

Jeff: The carpet was not wet so as everyone reports it has to be the slave. Anyway, no one has commented to the use of the NAPA parts I referenced. Are they OK or do I need to go somewhere else to get the correct parts?

I would be interested in ordering the NAPA unit and see what shows up, since their catalog shows the AC delco unit.
Rock Auto has a selection of slaves. |

Hi Doug,
Please forgive me being forward, but I'm also very interested in what shows up when you get your new parts. I think I need to replace my slave + master also as I got caught in the debacle of the poorly made/poor quality control issues back a few yrs. The parts I finally ended up using as replacements are having seal issues? I think, as my fluid is turning black with what looks like black specks suspended in the fluid. I actually had to "re-manufacture" a slave cylinder and use a standard wagoner cast type master I didn't expect the stuff to last long. Anyway, I'd be interested in any thoughts on the new stuff when you get it. Thanks! ![]() Tom
