Default Need to replace injectors!

I am looking to replace all the fuel injectors on my 93Z. I want to buy good quality that will last, also that will withstand injector cleaner if I should need to use it sometime in the future. I have read post on this undertaking sometime in the past, I have tried to find those post but have not been able to. One was a well detailed post [ with pictures] on how to remove the plenum an replace the injectors. I have the three red repair manuals they are helpful, but I also find it helpful to read the post on this web site. Some of you have found better ways of makeing a repair an have written good articles on the subject. If you would write a list of what I will need an where I can buy it. I would appreciate any help you might have. I like to buy U.S made if I can. Thanks...E...

I just replaced mine with FIC (Stainless Steel) and used Jerry's Gaskets as well.

FIC sells Jerry's Gaskets too as a complete package if you want shipping from one place.

Many Z owners have purchased them and they stand behind their products.

Not to say your injectors don't need replacing, BUT the issue with alcohol was limited to the 90-92 ZR-1s. 93-95 injectors are immune to the stuff.

As far as needing cleaning goes, I've been using Shell and BP 93 octane and had opportunity to inspect the injectors periodically (doing mods, etc). They have remained looking like NEW! Maybe there's at least something good to be said for the alcohol in the fuel, I guess. Combined with the detergent additives, MY injectors are staying perfectly clean - at least externally.

I went with new Accel injectors from Summit, part # 150821. Two sets of 8 (16 total) run about $589 + shipping.

Welcome to the madness!!

Paul,

93 to 95 are not immune my friend, trust me! We are finding most if not all are failing just like the 90 to 92's.

Then that means they are not age immune as the winding insulation is probably not all that different than the early ones. We're just now seeing 94 & 95 cars start to go bad then.

First...... Thanks to everyone for referring Jerrys Gaskets. I certainly appreciate it and it helps with development of new products and consolidated sourcing for LT5 Gaskets & Parts.

Thanks to Dave (ZZZZZR1). He was the driving force behind the idea to have FIC carry the gaskets & seals needed to replace the injectors in ZR-1 Corvettes. Jon @ FIC keeps them in stock as a convenience item for customers of the ZR-1 injectors so it can all be sourced at one place.

Thanks to all of you for your input. This has been helpful. I will be contacting the ones you have listed. Im not sure if I need a full kit as I bought some of the gaskets I thought I might need when I bought the car back in 93. I will have to see what I've got. Is there someone here that might know who posted the detailed article on injector replacement. It was well written an he had posted nice pictures. I think it was posted about 2 to 3 years ago....Also What type of injectors would you recommend and why?..The motor is stock.................... Thanks again for your help...E

DAVE!

Read again... Didn't say the injectors weren't bad. After all they're 17 years old, and who knows what crud has found a home in them.

My poorly conveyed point was, that IF the injectors were to be changed for reasons not to have anything to do with failing per se', but rather as a precautionary measure to avoid the alcohol related issues, then one might not NEED to change them ... But hey! If they're bad...they're bad - no arguement.. (After all...I DID provide a part # for new Accels, in the event they do in fact need to be replaced.)

My bad. I coulda shoulda made that clearer to read mo bettah!
