Talking Quit Giving 'Em Away

I can't believe the steals that are available. I wish people would quit giving these away. They will/have kill/killed the value of our cars.

Thumbs down Re: Quit Giving 'Em Away

Except for distress sales which happen, members have done it to themselves in an effort to pick up parts cheap and make a buck. Noone but ZR1 enthusiasts are buying these IMO. Could be wrong though.

Kinda like watching inner city rioters burn their own neighbrhoods to the ground and then saying, what happened?

Hammer,

I totally agree...... We saw it with two Z brothers last weekend (Carlisle), but got 2 new great owners. Both of the new owners got insane deals and really beautiful cars.

Problem was that both owners wanted to sell and didn't have time to "wait" for the right customer.

I think that there will always be 'distressed' sales.....however as time goes by it may be harder to find those cars. As those deals become fewer, the value of the remaining cars will firm up. JMHO.

Only trouble is if you're in a jam & need to get out fast then the sharks smell blood and the price reflects that. I don't know how you stop that from happening....bad things happen to good people that are beyond their control and ya can't blame them for having a fire sale because they need cash fast.

Tom

C'mon guys! PLEASE keep these cars affordable so people like me who grew up lusting after Z's can get them.

Or in other words KEEP 'EM CHEAP UNTIL I GET ANOTHER ONE!!!

After that, I totally agree with you guys!

To see some nice lower mile cars selling around 20 or less blows my mind...Kind of sad actually but man, if I had a few bucks Id be all over it.

Remember back in the early 80s when you could buy 69 DZ 302 Z/28 for 6-8k? I see the ZR-1 at that point now. (sans the mullet requirement to own)
