I called DRM and ordered all shock bushings except for rear uppers (since I have already installed these).
These are 2 packages I got from them. As to where they go, I am sure, can be figured out as I disassemble but not sure whether I got all the pieces I need. Those who have already replaced these pieces chime in and let me know if I am missing something? http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/u...91218-0808.jpg http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/u...91218-0809.jpg Thanks. |

Yun, all I can say is that the second picture is the upper shock mounting replacement bushings. The first picture I assume contains all the fixings to do the lower shock mount at the rear(?) shocks. I know that the uppers for front & rear look the same so I assume that they are identical.

I guess I will disassemble and reassess what will be replaced. When I talked to the DRM sales guy I was told poly was the only version they had. |

I hear you Pete! I just picked my parents up at the airport. They came in from West Palm Beach. My pops was saying how cold it was & that next year for Christmas that I & my sisters should fly to their place for Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all the Brothers Of The Beast! ![]() Yun, I was thinking about the bushing r&r for the uppers and what I was going to do was install them, disconnect the harness for the actuators & remove same, put the shocks in w/ new bushings & go drive the car around to "compress" the bushings and then measure to see if I had the 5mm gap to see if they settled. The fronts are easy, but the rears will be some work. Sorry, I don't have a better idea! ![]() ![]() What are your thoughts on this?

Check light stayed on for a day and then mysteriously went off. What I would do for the rear is go ahead and replace and, let it settle for a while. It's cold now and will resist compression for awhile. I would disconnect the whole system until it gets warm. Gears are abou $25 each from Captain Z but the actuators are what, $250 or so each? I know it's pain in the butt but what can you do? Fronts are easier to deal with. I am going to torque it down, see if it binds and if it does bind, pull the actuators, drive around, tighten and try again. I was hoping to replace all 4 shocks and front upper control arm (new piece, shock bushings and 4 shocks are sitting in the car) but it's snowing like hell (or should I say Canada?) and no way I will be able to drive to Jim's tomorrow. I think I will just take a day off before Christmas... Merry Christmas, y'all! ![]() |
