Had one of the best enjoyment days of my recent retirement @ WAZOO earlier today. Drove down to Jim & Lyndi's house this AM with maintenance day already in progress. I last saw Jim at Carlisle last year, it was a pleasure to see him again and meet his wife Lyndi. It was also a pleasure to meet Bob, Nelson, Charlie, Scott, & Rich. Not only enthusiastic ZR-1 owners, but also a great group of guys. Now I know how if feels to be part of WAZOO

Jim's garage is like a miniature Chevy dealer Service Shop, has everything that you can imagine for getting the job done. I know there are a lot of knowledgeable people who understand the LT5, and seeing Jim in action, I would have to say he ranks among the top of them, period....

When I arrived, Jim and Bob were working on Bob's '93 to eliminate a miss that has plagued Bob for awhile. After a much needed plug change, success was made.

Charlie was busy polishing the hood and certain other area's on some of Jim's Z's. In one of the pics you will see the depth of the shine he accomplished.

Scott had his White Z with those "hot" looking wheels on the lift, changing out the rear bearing hub assemblies. Also tried to change out the trans fluid, but the fill drain plug would not budge.

Nelson did not have his Z there, but had some good conversations and stories to tell.

Rich did not have his Z there either, and helped out with everything that he could. Was a big help along with Jim on performing some of the items done on my Z.

I was next up on the lift after Scott, we did the trans fluid change, got the fill plug out, but could not budge the drain plug. So the fluid was sucked out by the vacuum pump and refilled by a mini pump. The fluid coming out did not look bad, but good to change out anyway. I did not notice any change in shifting than before. But my trans has always shifted fine.
Next the anti-freeze change. What came out looked good, but again, did not know how long the coolant has been in there.
I asked Jim to road test my '94 as I wanted his opinion on how it feels to him. He came back and felt everything was fine, liked the way it ran.

Lyndi went out and came back with a container of ice cream for the guys and there was plenty of food for anyone hungry.

Again, I had a great time with a great bunch of down-to-earth guys that just love cars and have fun...looking forward to do it again....

Great to have gotten the chance to see everyone at least once before we start our move in a few weeks, and t was a pleasure to have met both Tom and Rich. I'm really going to miss the comradery and help that comes with being a part of this group, but hope that we can get back here in a couple short years!
