I was just reading the other thread on used LT5's, and looking at the Ebay pic of that entire front end, (sans bodywork), for sale.
It got me thinking about what cars,or trucks, would be the best candidates for a ZR-1 front end under their ancient bodywork. My favorite would be a pre- 55' Chevy of some kind, or an early Chevy truck. I've driven an old split-window coupe with an LT5 in it. It was fun as hell, but no match for a real ZR-1. So, what is the best example of this kind of vehicle you've seen, or thought about? |

Bob,
One of my BHAGs has been to do a 70-71 Camaro with modern drivetrain and an LT-5 in the engine bay. |

I think that the LT5 would be a worthy replacement for an exotic car with an engine you can't get parts for like certain Maseratis.

yes, and the nice c2 at carlisle (split window 63) was a peach engine is big and a bit heavy, but it's quite a nice swap like more details on the raptor megasquirt but if you don't need to integrate with the factory dash, lots of aftermarket options would work for the ECM the plain ol megasquirt (microsquirt) is less than 500!! wiring is a bit trickey but not too bad. great system |

Would love to put a LT5 in a 62 corvette with all the Newman stuff.

My plan is to build a 54 Motorama fastback with C4 suspension custom chassis, LT5 and six spd. I have two Fastbacks in line before I can do my own though. Darn customers!!

With all the Corvettes out there, seeing one at a car show or whatnot many times is not a big deal. But if you see a restomod with a corvette engine, steering, and suspension in it then people take notice.
