Riiiiiiiiight...
Finally read the Heart of the Beast, and mentioned GM wanting to have those kind of parts for support. WTF happened? Got pizzed after reading that. Honestly Im amazed this car ever came into production with as many problems as they had develpoing the motor to make it reliable . Good read though. |

After what GM has done to us I refuse to ever buy a new GM car.

That book is permanently parked next to about 10 Corvette models, all my Corvette books, and every Corvette-themed magazine I can find.
I might find another copy just to put next to the ol' throne! |

30 yr supply of parts????
![]() I guess I missed that part in the book....I'll have to read it again. Maybe I just flew over that part...I already owned the car before I read the book. I knew the scoop on parts before I bought my Z. 30 yr supply.... ![]() It's funny...the only GM cars that I have ever owned in my life have been two corvettes....both were bought used...72 LT-1 in '77-'85 & my 90Z in '04 thru when ever I die! The only new cars I've ever bought have been Fords! ![]()

I think the 30 year supply was from when the first ZR1 was delivered. Back in 1970...

its just a shame...If it werent for the forums and guys like Jeff Id never own one of these. Heck, been looking at some C3s to maybe trade into just because of parts ease....
However, Ive been using the Z as a daily and I find myself even after being in it all day sneaking out at 11-midnight looking for some empty roads. More I drive it the more I want to drive it. So much for leaving it alone in case it sold to ease the parting anxiety. ![]() Ill have to look back in the book to find it, (30 yr supply bit) was before the actual "production" chapters Im pretty sure. Read it from cover to cover in one sitting ![]() |
