Default No Clutch Pedal Pressure

Hello all..!!

After having my 1991 ZR1 sit for a few months Im finding that there is no pressure on the clutch pedal. I know the clutch is in perfect working order...Im just not sure why the pedal goes right to the floor keeping me from getting the car into gear...??

Thank You all in advance..!!

Ratz

Check the clutch master for fluid. Then check under the car for clutch fluid from the slave.

Slave is located on the driver side of the bellhousing.

Just in case you don't find any external fluid leaks from either place peal back the carpet up by the top of the clutch pedal and look for the possible leak thru the clutch master's push rod. If that is the leak the carpet or the insulation blanket, under the carpet, will be wet with clutch fluid.

You have not had to add any clutch fluid recently? Even if you have had to add some in small amounts I was told you start looking for leaks. You might want to visit zfdoc.com & look over their info. Very useful site.

Good luck,
Tom

Did you take the top off of the resiviour? If you just look at the white plastic, it may look full because there is a rubber expanding piece in there that fills any void that the lack of fluid causes.

If ANY air got in there, you have a lot of bleeding to do. Even after getting fluid to run through the slave with no bubbles, it took over 100 pumps of the clutch pedal to get the rest of the air out. It is a semi-self bleeding system.
