From my understanding you'd need 1100-1200ppm. It would be nice if we knew what ppm all or most popular brand oils have. Pete

Great article and my take away from it is if you are not breaking in a new cam then these oils will work for the LT5.
Shell Rotella T 10W30 Chevron's new "Delo 400 LE" 10W30 Valvoline VR-1 Racing Oil Mobil 1 High-Mileage 10W30 Joe Gibbs Hot Rod Oil 10W30 Red Line Synthetic Oil 10W30 Some of the above could be used in a break in situation but I was not focusing on that. I was looking for what is currently acceptable for LT5 already broke in. I picked these from the article and there are others, maybe someone can fill in the others. Please correct any mistakes I have made. Trust me when I say I am not an expert. ![]() |
