Default Samco coolant hose question

For those of you that have replaced the lower coolant hose that comes off the water pump, did you install the spring from the OEM hose into the new Samco hose?

Just curious...

I did not install the spring on mine. Didn't seem to need to.

Thanks.

That's what I was thinking too, but I wanted to see if anyone else did.

Thanks again,

I also did not install the spring, but I did install the nylon cover from the original hose. I used zip ties at both ends of the cover to keep it in place. I've replaced hoses on two ZR-1's this same way.

PS, use a little die-electric grease inside the hoses. They will slip right on that way and your life will be much easier.

That's a good suggestion.

I left them in the sun for about an hour or so and they slid right on with next to no troubles.
