No that doesn't mean it "won't" crank but the Nippendenso starter really likes to see 12V. What I meant is with good cables, good connections and a battery that is at or near 100% charge it (the starter) should certainly operate.

Nippendenso is the "manufacturer" of the starter assembly.

Since the starter isn't an "easy/quick" install I believe I'd start first at the battery and work my way toward the starter to confirm the "entire" starter circuit is 100%.

You don't mention miles?

If your battery and starter circuit are 100% maybe you really do need a "repair/rebuild". I'd do it "local" though! What you might pay in shipping from a US vendor should nearly cover a repair if it's minor (contacts, brushes, plunger etc). There's nothing "special" regarding the build of the starter. The rebuild/repair facility "will have" the parts for the repair! A one day repair easy for the shop!

Thanks for all the help.

My car has Â±60 000 miles. Battery is brand new energizer. I'll perform a few tests to try to pinpoint problem and will post updates. I have to do my injectors soon so I have to pull the plenum anyway, might as well send the starter out to get checked.

rebuilt my Starter Solenoid tonight..

Will try it out tomorrow as it got late here
