Is there a difference in the actual module....quality, pins, etc?

I'd think there must have been. The original preproduction ICM required an air-gap of something near .070 at the crank sensor I believe. That was accomplished with various thickness specialty shims. These early ICM's were reportedly used in only the first 500 production cars.
The early ICM was never offered as a service part. If an ICM failed it got the newer and the crank sensor's air-gap was adjusted Whose got #501? |
