As we all know the LT5 set Corvette apart from the rest of the heard. Blowing a pushrod LT1(-3) new power levels and then calling it an LT5 is pure

BLASPHEMY!

How many Corvette owners really know what an LT-5 is?
I hate to say it , but the vast majority of Vette owners are "posers"!!!
Unfortunately, the stereotype isn't that far off base...

I don't see a new engine architecture for the new Z06 or ZR1 models, but any new 'LT5' should be DOHC with all the active timing and manifold tricks.

Personally any recognition towards the past is more than welcome in my book.If the next car carries the ZR-1 emblem as well as the LT5 designation for the motor Im all for it,it could only be positive for the 2nd Gen ZR-1.

Jeff,

I partially agree. When the C6 ZR1 was introduced I was excited because it would create interest in the previous generations. And I think it has. That's why I support inviting the C6 Guys as part of our registry. However, the LT-5 IMO, is just something different. KOTH is one thing,
but DOHC 32V is something that cannot be ignored.

Now,one thing do I take offense too is when somebody referrers to any Corvette BUT a ZR-1 as the KOTH,we all know theres only one car that carries that honor, and it was built from 90-95.
