If I recall correctly, that particular car in the test had a 4.09 rear which limited its top speed in fifth, and the article mentioned the car would not pull top speed in sixth.

I believe 5th gear was always the gear for top speed. Not particular to the use of 4.09s.

You may want to check but 24hour Run was done in 5th gear.

I have been told the same thing with the 4.09 gear, which I also have, the car will top out in 5th and not 6th gear.

In the video it appears Doug Rippie suggest the driver put the car in 6th for the top speed run.

I may go back to a stock gear one day soon. The 4.09 gear with over 600hp can be a handful at times!

I was thinking 19s. I have 4.10s w mine and the ?effective? ratio is more like a 3.55 if u were using 17s.
