An important detail of the LT5 is the chain guide drive facings. They had worn out a lot during the past 30 years (and they love to break away sometimes). All the facings were not so bad at all but were fitted in new regardless. The reused chains were only stretched minimal (normally they are good for 150 miles).

Now the cylinder heads could be installed. The cylinder head bolts (in size M14x1.5) were used again (final torque specification: 160 Nm).
