Thumbs up Eric Egelstad update

Here is an update from JVD about Eric Engelstad.
I hope you enjoy reading this as much as did. I'm waiting on the pictures to be resent that belong with this article.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday, 9.01.11
Every once in a while I have to pinch myself and remember that no matter how dull and boring each day
may seem, others would say it was a glorious day. This morning I was reminded (again) of how lucky we
are to have what we have.
This morning as I began my “morning chores” at 4am (chores include messing with the beagle, making
coffee, making my To Do lists, etc). I found a box I received yesterday which I thought was some carpet
insulation for a job we have in here. I looked again this morning and found it was from a friend.
Last year we adopted a soldier in Afghanistan and he returned to us earlier this year. I’ve grown kinda
fond of Eric Egelstad (‘Stad) even though the poor soul chose the Army instead of the much better
alternatives such as the esteemed US Air Force. But being as it may, he has a greatest family and kids a
man could ask for, so I put up with his lessnesses so I could visit with the ’Stadettes on occasion.
Anyway, the box didn’t weigh that much but when I opened it I realized it was a heavy burden that I will
carry for the rest of my life.
Well, it looks like I’m an honorary “Rakkasan” now. The custom framed plaque is awesome but that
company banner in Air Force blue is to die for. And, It is signed by the guys.
Eric and family are leaving today for their new assignment in Washington (State). I think I’m gonna miss
that guy….
Thanks to all of you who helped make this possible.
