Default Snap On Scanner MT 2500 - Did I score well?

ED7E7E86-8492-4202-98B8-4162D3D94F51.jpeg

I received this scanner with my project Z. The General Motors reference manual is ninth edition November 1998. It has four GM/Chrysler/Ford/Jeep cartridges and plenty of connectors. It has a connector labeled GM-1. Can I assume this scans OBD1? I will be on a steep learning curve here. How did I do?

Personally, not a fan, but it may work for you. I use a Tech1A and Tech2 . Depends on the price you paid.

It was included with the Z I bought so no real cash outlay.

I have had one for years, works good. Little hard to navigate, need to use the reference manual a lot. If you can find a black plastic later cartage it will have the latest years in it.

I snagged one off of ebay, but it didn't have the modules or a manual. But, if someone can point me to which (and where maybe??) modules I need, it sure would be appreciated!

I have an old AutoXray unit that works quite well - another ebay find some 18 years ago when I bought my first C4. But, I worry about not having a backup. OR, I might pass it forward to someone if I could get the Snap On working.

Suggestions??

Move to Ocala Paul. We can work on it together. Housing is cheap. No state tax. Taxes are low. Cost of living is low. And the temps are not!

Hooked mine up to the car today just to check it out. Pretty decent amount of diagnostic capability. Went for a drive to see how things worked. Figured out the tach is off by about 150 rpm (tach reads high) Coolant temp reads surprisingly accurate on the gauge. Oil temp looks to be reading a hair low on the gauge. Fans come on at 208*..... Secondaries opened at about 27% throttle... My TPS reads 0.60 at rest, shouldnt that be 0.54?

Good to have it all @ your finger tips. Were it not for the scanner, I would have perhaps had 2nd thoughts about buying the Z. A big pat of my piece of mind was having a scanner. And, it has paid for itself several times over!
