Exhaust 101 question
I hadn't noticed this before the other morning. I backed "The Beast" out of the garage to let it idle/warm up a bit before changing the oil. The air temp was around 40 degrees so in the rearview mirror I could see some exhaust 'smoke' coming out of the pipes. I got out and walked around to the back of the car to look at it. I was surprised to see only two of the four openings were 'puffing'. I expected to see 'smoke' wafting from all four of the tips.
Is that correct for a bone stock exhaust system? If so, would it be harmful to somehow open up the other two? Seems silly to have four openings and only two functional.

Re: Exhaust 101 question
Yup, that's how they are stock. And yup, it looks kinda goofy on cold days. I wouldn't open it up though, replace the muffler if you want something with both sides functional.

Re: Exhaust 101 question
Thanks for the replies. Guess I'll have to live with it for awhile as there aren't any $$$ in the budget right now for replacing functioning mufflers.

Re: Exhaust 101 question
If that bothers you and you decide to put on an aftermarket exhaust, don't get the Corsa as they are the same way.
