My oil pressure gauge is all over from 0-80psi. Looked through solutions and parts list and I'm confused as to which sensor controls the gauge on the instrument panel. Is it AC delco # D1846(single pin), which is located on the right side of engine underneath oil filter by oil cooler hoses? Or is it AC delco # D1808a(three pin), which is located right next to oil filter, accessible from top of engine? Bought the single pin sensor, but now I'm not sure if I bought the right one as the 3-pin sensor looks like it has a coating of oil on it. Any help would be appreciated

The gauge receives its input from the larger black cylindrical sensor, mounted upright at the forward / RH edge of the oil filter housing.
The switch which activates the "check gauges" light on the dash cluster, is the shorter black cylindrical switch, low down on the RH side of the oil filter housing. FYI, the oil temp sender is the third sender/sensor on the housing; this is a brass unit low down on the front of the housing. Andrew |

Thanks, guys. Looks like I'll have a spare sensor, lol. At least the one I need to fix, is alot easier to get to.

Some years ago my oil pressure sender leaked.
I repaired it and it has not leaked since. http://www.zr1netregistry.com/ZR1_oilpressure.htm

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACDelco-D180...ef69a1&vxp=mtr I'll more than likely damage the sensor, but once I replace it w/ a one I'll try to repair the old one, that way I'll have a spare. You should have a free lifetime membership for the amount of useful information you but in here ![]() |
