Default Electric fan removal

Hi guys, I searched and didn't find anything. I need to replace the passenger side electric cooling fan. Anyone know the easiest way to get this done?

placeded mine a few years back (beware of fuzzy recall...), from underneath
The bumper. I removed the belt and the tensioner for access. It wasn't a big deal, as I recall.

good luck.

I appreciate the reply. However I have taken a look and can't see how removing the belt gains any access to the electric cooling fan. There is a chassis cross member between the belt and fan. If anyone has ever had their passenger side fan out, please let me know what had to come apart to accomplish that. Thank you.

If I remember correct, when I replaced my radiator, I removed the back panel of the radiator shroud (with both fans attached) pretty easily - 6 bolts? And two weatherpak connectors.
Once removed, replacing either fan should be straight forward.

Thanks, I will give that a try. I was looking at it and trying to figure out if that panel separates and if I have to take the filter dryer out first.

Rookie help here, but my 1990 FSM says
1. remove battery cable
2. remove bolt (upper right )retaining fan assembly to fan shroud.
3. Raise vehicle and suitably support.
4. remove electrical connector from fan motor.
5. remove bolts retaining fan assembly to fan shroud.
6. remove fan assembly from vehicle.
I am assuming because of step #3, the fan will be removed from below, after a quick trip to look at mine ( without the car raised ) it looks like that makes sense. Hope this helps !

Thank you, I have the same instructions. Only problem is.. after you complete step 5, there is no way step 6 is going to happen, and I was trying to remove from the bottom.
