A big thanks to Gunny , Robert and of course Paul for leading me around the mountains on an amazing roller coaster ride of twists , turns and amazing scenery .
A big thanks to Steve also for letting me brrraapp the throttle a few times in his beast of an LT5 so he could hear how his car sounded coming up the steep twisty road to the hotel lol .
So hoping to be able to do this again next year and meet up with such a huge group of great people who have a deep passion for the ZR-1 and Corvettes in general . Best road cars in the world ...

Yeah, I was surprised too; thoughts of driving among black tree trunks - was what I expected. And, you can see some spots and hilltops where (apparently) the fire was pretty intense - so much so the trees were killed.

There were places where there was evidence of black charring on tree trunks, and there were many trees laid down: didn't have to look hard for signs of the fire. But! Believe it or not, signs of it were subtle, actually. Mother nature is quick to recover, apparently.

Impression: Beautiful!!! Nothing like spring in the south!!

Hey Mike...this was a fun trip! Glad you guys enjoyed it! It was so good to see you guys and going shopping with Deslie 😊
I am a "looker", love to look at the sights... so unless Paul wants to do a,"Thelma and Louise" over a Blue Ridge Mountain cliff, he'll need to drive, LOL!!!
It was great seeing everyone and I hope everyone (and more) come next year. If you have never been to the mountain runs, you are definitely missing out!
Gunny...great job - as always! I appreciate the hard work/long hours you and Robert (and anyone else working to put this together) put into this. It was wonderful to see Kay...beautiful as always - inside and out ❤
Next year, we bring sunscreen! 😳 LOL

Not posted yet ... I'm almost finished with the photos and will post a link as soon as I have uploaded them to my website. I'm also working on several video clips that I think everyone will enjoy ... the video clips are taking longer to edit than anticipated but I will let everyone know when they are uploaded.

My plate's been a bit loaded since the end of MR5 ... several of you know that I'm the primary caregiver for my 98 year old mother who is dealing with numerous aging issues including dementia. The last few weeks have been a bit rough for her and she's not bouncing back too well ... i.e. family needs have been a higher priority lately.

That said, I hope to have some photos up by week's end.

Good luck, Gunny. We know your Mom is in good hands!
