It goes back to LOTUS's design and Merc Marine's credit for building an engine built to last in competition. Again....NOTHING about the SBC can be attached to the LT5: not parts, and certainly not wear characteristics, apparently.
It (the LT5) is a completely different animal. Forget everything you know about SBCs, wear and endurance characteristics, etc., when considering the LT5. They don't apply. The LT5 motor is a "clean slate": a complete "do-over", far as V8 design goes...which is ONE of its more intriguing aspects!!
I also agree.

My 1990 Charcoal ZR1 at 61,000 miles runs like new.

I checked out the car in Thompson Pa today for Andrew. The car is one of 3 ZR-1's she has. Unfortunately her husband passed away in 2011 and she's trying to sell of some of his collection. She said he used to be a member of the Registry. I forgot the last name but his first was Scott and was 52.

They have the 95 Black on Black with 61k on it now, a Red on Black 94 with 4500 on it, and a 93 40th forget the miles. The red car is really nice and asking 50k obo. She is keeping the 40th because it was his first one. Also has:
2009 Z06 that she said was a 1 of 10 Jake edition? 4000 miles $70 ish
67 427 coupe fully restored beautiful car! $78 I think?
Mach 1 mustang forget info, and a amx that I didn't see.

The 95 has some wear, she said he drove it everywhere and was his favorite over all the other cars. The vacuum pump was dead, car was repainted due to a nose hit. Weather stripping needs to be replaced, and the wheels have some rash and could use a set of tires. It starts up and idles smooth. Has a B&B catback on it, and a carbon overlay on the dash and console. I talked to her son about replacing the pump. No bad lights on and all the bulbs lit up cycling the key on the DIC. I didn't drive it because they live on a dirt road, the bad pump and it was almost out of gas. A lot of the issues are normal wear and tear C4 items and can be fixed. Don't know how much she will come down from the 23k. I told her to research the forum and try to list them here.

Really appreciate the help Rich. The car isn't for me, but the search continues.

Thanks again.

Has anyone has any experience with or know anything about a Streetside Classics? It’s a dealership with multiple locations. They have 3 C4 ZR-1’s listed online and a bunch of other older Vettes at the Nashville TN showroom. They also have other classic cars. I’m somewhat interested in the 91 black on red. Love the color combo.

We have 1 here, prices I feel are high, sellers generally asking to much plus streetside fee, I think aprox 12%, buy one from a member here sorted out

Thanks for the info. Well if anyone has a well sorted Black on Red or DRM on Black I'm interested. Otherwise I'll keep looking!

I bought my Z in 2014 from gateway classics in Chicago....
Bought it sight unseen....I was lucky, car was exactly as described when it came off the trailer, no suprises...

You should be ok with these places that have multiple dealerships around the country...There reputation is at stake and many people buy sight unseen...

I saw that black and red one..Nice color combo....Throw out an offer and leave your number....

Yeah that's what I'm thinking I might do. I have them looking into whether or not fuel injectors were replaced on the car.

Does anyone have a mechanic recommendation near Nashville? I would want someone to look at the car before I officially pull the trigger.
