And if you go on Ebay......... search for Electrical Connector Tool and you then can replace the connector only without having to splice in (purchase) a PigTail.

Success! Thanks to you guys I have been able to pull the plenum and IH for the first time without too much trouble! I really appreciate those who chimed in
It looks like IH gaskets have been leaking for quite some time as it looked quite nasty down there. I am glad I tackled this one over thess holidays.

I DID run into some trouble however.....When I was pulling the IH on the driver's side, I guess I did not drain enough coolant so some coolant got into the valves, ports to the cam, and starter valley....I was able to clean the valve ports and valley but I am kind of concerned about having coolant mixed with oil...not sure how much got in either...
I am assuming I need to change the oil right away as well?

It’s amazing how loose the IH bolts can get. Remove all the spark plugs and spin the engine over with the starter. This will blow out anything in the cylinders. Then change the oil. You should be good after that.

Okay I am installing the injectors and fuel rail now. Do I need to install injectors to the rail first? or do they go to the housing first? What is the usual process that works well on ZR1?

I assembled the rails and fuel pressure regulator/fuel transfer tubes first.
I installed the injectors in the rails next, so you can get the clips in.
Then position the rails/injectors over the holes and push them in carefully. Lube the o-rings first.
Be careful not to disturb the fuel transfer tube O-rings.

I mount the injectors to the fuel rail first. Then install the rail to the IH. Then hook up the electrical connectors to the injectors. To me at least the reverse of how lt all came off.
