Default Gauging interest in Valentine 1 display, hidden in DIC?

EDIT: OK, I'm tired of looking at these, anyone interested at $150?

Some of you may have noticed how I modded my DIC (information center in the dash) to accept the Valentine 1 concealed display unit.

Well, I've decide to offer these for sale as a plug and play affair. I'm going to make a small run of a few of them, to be sure there's actually interest in them. Each style of DIC has it's own challenges and differences, such as:

90 - unit must be mounted in extreme LH corner. No disabling of LTPWS required.
91 - easiest style, upper LH corner is empty. If LTPWS is absent or removed, can be mounted in upper RH like mine.
92-93 - Due to ASR warning lamps in upper LH, the only option is to remove the LTPWS lamps, and mount the unit in the upper LH like my 91.
94-95 (96 for base cars too) - same as 92-93, for the most part, requires elimination of LTPWS.

Here's another '91 unit with the LTPWS retained, V1 mounted in upper LH corner.

Here's a 90, mounted in far upper left corner, to allow "full engine power" light to remain functional.

92-93 Version, LTPWS eliminated out of necessity

94+ version, LTPWS eliminated out of necessity

Obviously, this mod isn't for "everyone". But, I figure there might be some folks who want a drop-in unit. I'm willing to offer these units along with a core charge, so that you don't have downtime, just return me a DIC in equal condition. I am going to ship units without the "trip computer" attached, you reuse your own, it's just 3 screws and a small harness that unplugs easily.

New Price - $199, includes free shipping, and no core charge. Includes DIC, and V1 concealed display. Basically well over $100 in just the parts.

Also, another option, for those who want ultimate stealth, is to eliminate the mute button. You'd then need to use the button on the main V1 unit.

I'll have pictures of the different year setups within a few days, depending on when I get to work on them. Each unit takes me a few hours to modify.

For those of you who already have a V1 concealed unit, and want to send it to me to install into your DIC, the charge for that will be $200, and there's no core charge. Return shipping to you is included.

Questions? Opinions? Feedback? I'm open to ideas and criticism, that's why I posted this...

Thanks
Andrew

Great idea - I need a cloaking device for the detector though!

What states are Detectors illegal in now?

last time I used one, there was only a few states where it was illegal.

I probably have not had a detector in my car for 16 years

Still ok in NH.
I like this idea, just bad timing for me. So put me on the interested, but not ready to buy list.

John, does the Passport have a remote (concealed) display option?

Short answer-no. However, the 9500ci is a remotely mounted unit with same capabilities. Price: $1,699, WOW!! See their website for details.
