Re: '90 ZR-1 brake refurbish options

Got the master cyliner bled today. It was definitely air bound after sitting for so long as well as draining out the reservoirs so I could give them a good cleanout. Hardest part was getting the...

Re: '90 ZR-1 brake refurbish options

Nice, that's a good spot. The ones I got ended up being super small, and I wasn't sure if they would stay stuck to engine parts due to the heat.

Re: '90 ZR-1 brake refurbish options

In final stage of cleanup of the last corner before caliper install. I found a nice brake rotor hub cleanup kit on amazon (a bit pricey at $40, but it does the job around the wheel studs very...

Drivehub ZR-1 review

For everyone's viewing pleasure. I don't think I've seen it elsewhere posted in the forum, so apologies in advance if it's a duplicate post:

Re: '90 ZR-1 brake refurbish options

Rear calipers installed, e brake adjusted. Apparently it has an automatic adjuster, cycled it several times. You can wiggle the rotors to check engagement and release.

Re: just bought a 91 zr1 driving home 1200 miles!?!

Welcome to the madness! One more plug here for new tires, or trailer it. I vote for trailer since it's so far. Get her up to par and checked out, then she'll do 1200 miles no problem. Congrats!

Removing old rear corvette badging adhesive

Last time I had the car out, when I got home I noticed my rear "corvette" badge between the tail lights half detached. The old adhesive is fossilized of course, and I'm quickly losing hope on an easy...

Re: '90 ZR-1 brake refurbish options

Also, lessons learned: flush the brake system before pulling the old calipers off for refurb. I haven't found a clean way to do it without calipers and assoc bleed screws.

Re: '90 ZR-1 brake refurbish options

Finally off my butt getting the brake system put back together. New powerstop rotors and new (but used) abs sensors going in (mine had no insulation left), along with DRM SS brake lines.
