Re: Looking for Oxygen sensors for my engine

I use AC/Delco O2s when I can find them. Haven?t tried Denso and have found that Bosch O2s have a tendency to drop signal intermittently resulting in ECM using Open Loop at times.

Re: 1990 no start issue

Yep. Exactly what I did. I still depress the clutch to start the car altho don?t need to. Just in case I overlooked putting trans in Neutral.

Re: 1990 no start issue

My clutch switch has been permanently bypassed for 14yrs. I swapped one of those babies out on my 84 when I was much younger and flexible. Ain?t no way u can pretzel yourself under there these days.

Re: Question on Sound Deadening Material for Interior

BTW, I would give a shout to V2V No Flex chassis braces. It clearly reduced the noise in my interior. Not road noise, but much of the niggling little squeaks and rattles from the chassis flexing....

Re: Question on Sound Deadening Material for Interior

These work really well. Exhaust has a nice mellow note with little to no drone.

Re: Anyone changed their injectors themselves?

Whatever injectors u buy as replacements, have them flow tested first, then match pairs to make certain u have even flow to all cylinders. Don?t ASSume.

Re: I really want a C8

The C4 ZR is raw which is so fun to drive. You get the mechanical noises and a direct connection to driving. If I could I?d love to have both.

Re: I really want a C8

True Karl. Perhaps I can hang on long enough to snag one in a few years used.

Bob,

The C8 Z has more hp than the C7Z and is naturally aspirated as u know. No way I?ll ever see a C8 ZR1 unless I...

Re: I really want a C8

I?m totally w u. If its a C8, it needs to be the Z06. Been waiting for a mid engine Vette for over 50 yrs. They finally come out w one and make it pretty much unaffordable. I wouldn?t get the...

Re: High/Hanging Idle

Sounds too inconsistent to be a vacuum leak. Sounds to me that as soon as u stab the throttle that?s when it occurs, then quite possibly the movement of the throttle is what brings on the high idle....

Re: High/Hanging Idle

One other issue to look for is if the throttle return spring is weak. It won?t bring the TB back to nominal position and cause a high idle. Had that issue several years ago altho if I blipped...

Re: 90 stalling issue solved

Varying the vacuum at the FPR varies the fuel pressure. I used this approach on my 84 Xfire so as to be able to use TBI injectors large enough to feed a modified motor at WOT and yet idle properly....

Re: Minimum Air Idle Adjustment

So looks like u should open TB a bit further which then would require fewer IAC steps for idle.
Again, make sure u re-check TPS v whenever u change TB opening.

Re: Challenges setting minimum idle air.

The way to set the IAC is after u have it idling just below ur desired idle, say ALMOST stalling, IOW once u have set ur idle just below where u actually want it, connect everything, restart w diag...

Re: Challenges setting minimum idle air.

Mine is ported and cammed as well. U want to set the idle rpm just below where u want it to idle normally so that the IAC will intervene and keep it from stalling out. My motor idles somewhere around...
