Cool Transmission problem:Please help!

A gearbox of my friend's '93 ZR-1 did not work definitely.
He can't put it in First gear and second gear.About this problem, the solenoid which controlled 1 to 4 of the gearbox regarded us as a cause.
However, I do not think that He can't send Gear to first and second, because a solenoid breaks down. I thought that I might be due elsewhere.
I thought about whether it would not be the serious trouble in more gearboxes.

I looked for the thread about this problem, but I was not able to find it.

Please please help to solve this problem.

It is difficult to understand the problem.
I doubt the 1 to 4 solenoid is the problem. (It is called CAGs)
Please tell me. Are the other gears shifts ok?
1 NG ?
2 NG ?
3 OK ?
4 OK ?
5 OK ?
6 OK ?

Sounds like a bad clutch master cylinder or bad slave master cylinder.

Check your clutch fluid ... I recently replaced both the slave & master cylinders because of a slow leak (slave was bad). If you do have a leak, consider replacing both slave & master at the same time.

Order the master and slave here :

http://www.zfdoc.com/

And don't use the car untill it's fixed. If you do use the car the fix will cost much more.

If the 1-4 solenoid stuck at 4th gear position this could cause the "shifter won't move to 1-2 gate". I (thankfully) have not had to look at that, but how hard is it to remove the solenoid?

Good luck,
- Jeff

Kenji, I certainly agree with others you should check the master and slave cylinder as well as fluid level however, based on what you have described you may have lost the 1 & 2 gear synchro.
Unfortunately if this is true, it is not easy to fix.
I have rebuilt the ZF6 transmission before. It is doable but you must be brave and make sure you have the a 10 or 20 ton press available.
I can point you at a CD that walks you through the process if a rebuild becomes necessary.

I hope the cyclone now in Japan is not where you are.
