Almost ready to fire up the new ECU. Calibration interface really wasn't that complex. I think I got a decent base map to start. LIfe Racing F88. 16 injectors, wasted spark stock coils, for now. COP capable.

2Mhz was probably state of the art in 1987 automotive controllers.

56mhz Freescale processor from what I understand, FPGA for engine position/timing calculations. This is the bomb.com.

So u won’t be using the crank sensor for firing, if I understand correctly? Is this tuning on engine dyno or in the car and on the street?

No it definitely uses the crank and cam sensor. What I meant was that Life uses separate processor to monitor and manage the time critical signals rather than tie up the main processor. Not a big deal for the LT5 running a mere 7k rpm and only having 9 crank teeth per rev. With a more dense trigger wheel and 5-figure revs it probably matters [emoji1303]

I would imagine the FPGA does all the time critical work.. They are extremely fast and very time accurate.

I think many aftermarket ECU for our cars would benefit us..

for most the MS3-pro if they ever get around to releasing it.. but I heard the Holley HP is another decent ECU too and I now it runs a LT5

Yes.. a 58 Corvette with the LT5 and Holley HP system. I have an email from the builder on what he did..

Finally found coils that fit. Getting back to this project now that there is a lull in customer work. Hope to run on the new ECU in the spring.

Hey Todd, would you mind sharing the details on the Coil you found? what application is it from?

EDIT: I ask because I am looking into ECM/IM alternatives to see what might have a chance to work
