Default Re: Rattles inside and outside the car...

Having owned 2 ZR1s since 1991, I know a few things about squeaks and rattles in ZR1s.
I fully sympathize and understand Marty's sentiment. However, there are a lot of squeaks and rattles that can be tamed.

ram_g,

I would remove radio bezel, remove radio, try wrapping harnesses behind with thin foam and zip-tie and tuck in as radio is reinstalled. Be sure to tighten 4 hex bolts (In think M8s) without stripping since these bolts fasten into plastic and not metal.
Also, be sure that radio bezel is bolted in tight all all points.
If it still squeak and rattles, turn to Marty solution.

Thank you. I'll be removing the radio soon to have it serviced and I'll address that.

Yes, it will drone.
Yes, your neighbors may frown at your 5 AM startup on drive days.
You may need a couple of Excedrin.
HOWEVER, the smile on your face during each drive will be a lasting treasure.
It is now an older Corvette, AKA Born to Rattle.
If you want quiet, drive the Lexus.
Enjoy the drive, rattles and all!

Marty
Seems like a pretty easy fix then.
