Default Looking for a tight fit snug elastic car cover rated for use on an open trailer.

Planning on taking my 90 to at least two Corvette events this year, with one being Carlisle. I sold my enclosed trailer due to space needs and will be using an open trailer. Looking for a car cover that is safe to leave on the car at highway speeds. I know there used to be one that would work but can't remember the name. Anyone know of a cover that will hold snug at highway speeds? Don't want road grime all over my car.

This is the car cover I purchased for my Z, fits good and snug and pretty sure it would be fine at highway speeds.

That's the type I am looking for. It shows for indoor use only though. Thx!

This might work for you. I have heard good things about them but have not tried them.

I have personally witnessed paint damage caused by the "Rubbing" of car covers particulalrly on the edges and corners when buffetted by the winds when trailered open for any appreciable distance. While more so on older Lacquer paint, still saw it on clear coated newer cars as well.

While I absolutely understand your desire to protect it, it is no more in danger than simply driving it would cause, so you might want to just trailer it uncovered and clean it up on arrival at your destination in order to avoid the above risk.

I certainly agree with Marty on this. I would not put a cover on an open trailered car. You really do run the risk of likely paint damage. Hauling it uncovered is just like driving it and after you've arrived at your destination
just give it a wash. I remember that people using some of the early "bras" also complained of paint damage on long trips. The original C4 paint is quite hard and durable (according to a detailer who did a paint correction on my '95 a while back). You should be fine.--Bob
