Had an unfortunate incident where my car dumped all the oil after an oil change, and I ran it briefly with no oil pressure. Is there a way to prime the oil system now to help prevent any further damage?

I dont drive my 93 ZR1 often ..so after a month of sitting ..before I run the engine.. I remove the fuses for the fuel pumps (# 14 and #15 in the pass side door jam fuse panel)... That way I can crank the engine 3 or 4 times at 3-4 seconds a time to build oil pressure. you may want to do it more ??
I mainly do it to avoid the chain tensioner rattle which makes me cringe worse than nails on a blackboard. It may not be the best or only way ..but I've done it for years Bob |

I have been seeing something making the rounds about using a "fog clear" mode apparently if you put the gas pedal all the way to the floor and start, it will turn over but not fire? I see it mentioned in the last comment here
https://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread.php?t=34211 Does this work on C4 ZR-1? It appears that it should, I haven't tried it yet.

You should not use the "flood clear mode", that is pedal to the floor while cranking the LT5 engine. Doing so may cause a huge backfire.
