Default C60 A/C Help

car has refrigerant in the system and the systen worked last year. now the A/C Compressor is not turning on.

All buttons seem to function correctly and the air blows out of the proper vents for each function.. bu the Compressor does not kick on.

I have been going through the FSM and in section 8A-64 ( C60 compressor controls) is where I am at now..
looking at page 8A-64-4 Symptom Table

Mine is for A/C Compressor Clutch will not engage.. use Chart #2 page 8A-64-6

Chart 2 has me checking Pin A1 of Connector C1 for the HVAC Controller with a test light.. It lights..

Next step check ECM Green Connector (VIN J) Pin 2, turn key on, select MAX, Defrost Bilevel, Normal AC.. Test light should light but does not..
it then says to check circuit 259 and that is okay, so is says AC unit is bad.

I bought a BRAND NEW unit.. Same thing, so I am doubting it is the AC Controller..

now what?? I would like to get the AC working, but it will not.. this wire to the ECM is the A/C Request Line.. next is to bypass it and run 12v to see if it works..

but what else can i check?

Jeff Pm the guy over on the other forum that appears to be the AC guru on the c4s. SunCR is his handle. GC

Speaking of AC...is there anything we can do to just increase the strength of the airflow?

I heard the ZR-1 AC system is different than the standard C4...which is why we have the solar windshield...but the blower in the dash should at least be the same right?

Replace the blower motor. The difference is night and day. The compressor is smaller and the solar glass was susposed to make up for the difference. The Blower fan is identical to any C4.

Compressor looks the same as the one in my old 89, just different mounting

I thought it was engine heat that was the main reason for the solar windshield

GC,

AC is fixed.. I troubleshot it last night and the Clutch relay was not even in the socket. I must have bumped it while R&R the brake Booster..

AC works, but I need to finish charging it, still is a bit low..

Awesome I love the easy fixes. I read about that windshield tidbit somewhere.
